the site is made up of barracks to the west, tank garages, servicing and maintenance buildings to the north-west, and exercise grounds to the east and south.

its location at the heart of the complex enables it to act as a link between the current buildings on the site. the building is made up of a succession of longitudinal strata whose depths and heights vary according to their functions. the equipment section is arranged so that personal equipment is on the lower level and vehicle equipment on the higher level. it forms a link between the reception area and the departure point for exercises.

due to the topography, one of the major constraints was to connect the reception area – at the lower level of the barracks – with the upper part of the departure point for exercises, between the clean and dirty sections. the logistics section is located in the centre of the building, around a service yard, protected from dust and accessible via its own link to the main access road.
