the staggered positioning of the new building achieves clear differentiation between the school, sports and multipurpose areas. it also ensures optimum natural light for each building on the site. all the buildings are arranged around the current yard which becomes a subdivisible reception space that can be adapted to various uses – the school playground, an outside extension of the foyer in the case of functions, a reception area or car park in the case of an event in the main hall.
the building is made up of a skin of stained concrete; the interior is insulated and lined with timber panels, incorporating acoustic elements on the walls and ceiling in order to respond to all the acoustic requirements of a truly multipurpose hall. the openings distributed over the walls and ceiling satisfy the need for regular, filtered light. they are covered with small pvc domes. |
