the challenge in this project was to produce a house that was both economical and of high quality. the compact dimensions, prefabrication and reduction of the project to a minimum helped to reduce the construction costs of this dwelling. situated in a densely-occupied residential area, the house stands on a plot measuring 550m2. the building is oriented mainly to the south, towards the sole opening that the site affords. the daytime-use spaces and service areas are on the ground floor, while the 4 bedrooms are on the upper floor. the habitable floor space amounts to 128m2. the building has a prefabricated wooden frame on a raft foundation. the windows are of wood, as is the cladding on the façade. in addition, an efficient thermal envelope enables energy consumption to be reduced. |
