the complex is made up of 3 independent buildings. the
two new structures are arranged in line with both the site boundary and the
existing building. the interaction between the buildings creates exterior
spaces in a state of tension. the project is intended to reinforce the
urban-park character of the site. the trees have been conserved and emphasised.
a network of walkways enables people to stroll in the park, protected from road
nuisance by a surrounding wall. the school benefits from more open views along
the simplon road. to the north, the sports hall is a shining presence in the
park. its façade, entirely open on all four sides, is filtered by a special
cladding system. |
